Workers Compensation or Workman's Comp is an insurance policy that will provide coverage for your employees who become sick or get hurt on the job site. Workers Compensation Insurance will also give you the business owner coverage for employee death benefits as well rehabilitation coverage. Employees will only be eligible for benefits of workers compensation insurance if the illness is somehow related to the job and/or job site. However if an employee is injured off of the job site he will not be eligible for workers compensation insurance. Workers Compensation Insurance is an extremely important coverage to carry if an employee is injured or dies while in the process of the job you as the employer becomes financially liable. Workers Compensation Insurance allows you to insulate yourself from any lawsuits that can arise. While your Workers Compensation Insurance policy is active an employee who receives benefits cannot sue you in court for lost wages or injuries.
